Panasonic has released a new household LED bulbs in Japan, says that lasts 40 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
Screw in the bulb are part EverLed line, and they are scheduled to hit stores in Japan on October 21, with monthly production of 50,000 units. There is no need to change the lighting equipment used for incandescent lamps.
If you use an average of five and a half hours a day, new bulbs can last up to 19 years, according to Panasonic. That's 40 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
Bulbs use only the eighth power of incandescent lamps. This means that the 60-watt equivalent LED light bulbs will cost 300 yen (about $ 3) per year instead of 2380 yen ($ 25.80) - a significant savings over a lifetime.
Panasonic did not set a price on a new EverLeds, but the Nikkei offers standard version will cost about 4000 yen (about $ 40).
LED lamps are not new. Their relatively high cost is a factor in the maintenance of their gaining popularity, but in Japan, at least, Panasonic is about 50 percent of the domestic market bulb. This means that we should raise the profile EverLeds LED there much.
Panasonic is also conducting market research prior to EverLeds in the U.S., Europe and Southeast Asia.
