I was excited to try out a new house Sharing feature in ITunes 9. The function is not as new as some reports suggest - it was possible to share ITunes libraries between computers on a home network for several years, but this experience was rather limited. You could not play DRM-protected songs in a shared library, can not create playlists from the general library, and most importantly, can not physically transfer the songs from the library on one computer in the library at the other. Exchange Home promises to change all this, so I happily updated ITunes on my Windows XP computer and my MacBook (which my wife adopted), and allowed the main exchange for both.

For a wonderful time My Mac (almost free music) were able to see the 3500 songs stored in ITunes on my computer. Transfer button just sitting there, waiting for me to begin to move as much of my music as I wanted to my Mac.

But instead of moving forward, I had to tinker. In short, my wife and I have separate user accounts on the computer. There are a few songs, some artists (like Journey), which are in the ITunes library on my wife's computer, but I am convinced, will never appear in my (I can not stand Journey). So I decided to try to share their library with the Mac. I closed my ITunes on your PC, includes Off, entered on the user account, my wife opened Itunes, and tried to create the main access. This allowed me to resolve with ITunes - which are necessary to make primary Sharing - but once I authorized the sharing icon in the left column disappeared.

OK. So I enter the account of his wife, fall back on the computer, as I did, and went back to the library ITunes. Now, I could not see the main exchange at all. I used the menu expanded to turn Off Home Exchange and back - no luck. I went to the Mac and turned it off and back - no luck, and that made the main exchange vanish at this copy of ITunes, as well! I rebooted both machines a few times - no luck.

Now, every time I want to bring home exchange, it allows me to be allowed, then, as soon as I click "Finish" Home Exchange icon disappears. I think he got something to do with attempts to resolve the two libraries on one computer with the same score Itunes, but there is no support for online ITunes 9 Nevertheless, so I can not say. (And before you ask, yes, I like "Open access to local libraries in the network" and "Look for shared libraries" check box checked on ITunes on both computers.)
